The best dates to visit the vineyards and wineries in Ica are between the months of January and February, since you will be able to observe the vineyards full of grapes ready to be harvested. And, in the first weeks of March, the Fiesta de la Vendimia is celebrated in honor of the harvesting of grapes for the elaboration of new piscos and wines and the ancestral tradition of this trade in Ica.   • Hacienda Tacama

Hacienda Tacama is a place with great colonial architecture that shows a traditional coastal hacienda of Peru, it has a courtyard, a bell tower and a chapel where to date weddings are celebrated, in addition they also offer accommodation for visitors.

In the vineyards of this hacienda wine has been produced since the 1540s, being the oldest vineyard in South America. In this place you will feel out of time since it preserves its architecture very well and has a spectacular decoration, which adds an atmosphere of romanticism to the space.

A curious fact about this place is that in the past Hacienda Tacama was a monastery so some of its facilities have a pink color, the color that represented in some way the places of worship in colonial times.

At Hacienda Tacama you will find one of the best restaurants in Ica: El Tambo restaurant, which is characterized by its exquisite traditional dishes, the cost of the main dishes ranges from S/. 30 to 50 soles ( USD 9 to 17 dollars).

  • Viñas Queirolo Hotel

The Viñas Queirolo Hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in Ica, it is located in the middle of a traditional vineyard of more than 500 hectares and when you stay in one of its luxury rooms you will live an unforgettable experience, where the protagonists are wine, pisco and fun. Its wines and pisco Queirolo are very popular in Peru for its exquisite and tradition.

  • Hacienda and Distillery La Caravedo

Hacienda La Caravedo is one of the oldest pisco distilleries in America. Since 1684 it produces Peruvian pisco and is well known for its Pisco Portón.

This hacienda is a sample of a traditional hacienda of the Peruvian Coast, it has a boulevard, a huge agar, where pisco was made in a traditional way, it also has a colonial church, and inside the hacienda it houses one of the most luxurious colonial style hotels in Ica, it also has a restaurant: Los Horcones, where you can taste traditional dishes of Ica and Peru and on Sundays they offer shows of Paso horses.

The Hacienda La Caravedo offers tours, in which they explain the process of making pisco, from harvesting to bottling, and you can also tour the hacienda facilities and do pisco tasting.

  • Sotelo Winery

It is a family winery that was created in the first decades of 1900, they are experts in the art of making pisco and to this day they have a long tradition of artisanal and industrial production of this liquor, its emblematic pisco is its Pisco Sotelo.

In the tour of the Sotelo Winery they explain the process of making pisco, from harvesting to bottling, you also enjoy a spectacular pisco tasting, and if you go between January and February they invite you to harvest with them the grapes for the production of the new pisco. In my opinion, the pisco from Bodega Sotelo is one of the best I have tasted in Ica and its prices are quite cheap.
