Seasons to visit Cusco

What is the best season to visit Cusco?

This always depends on what you want to see, your interests and even your budget. First of all, you should know that, although in Peru we have 4 seasons (summer, winter, autumn and spring), in Cusco there are only 2 important seasons: Rainy Season and Dry Season.

Rainy Season

In the Rainy Season, which goes from November to March, you will find warm and humid days, it is not as cold as in the rest of the year.

The daytime temperature in this season ranges from 13°C and 23°C and, at night, between 5°C and 7°C. Although it is called “Rainy Season” it does not mean that it rains every day and at all times, there are very sunny days and then it rains or, also, there are days when it rains and at the same time there is a lot of sun.

This season is very unpredictable, but you have to be patient to see all the landscapes more clearly, as there will be days when you will have to wait a couple of hours for the sky to clear the mist and appreciate the landscapes or, also, there will be days when it will only take a few minutes for the skies to clear. Usually after 10:00 a.m. the skies are clearing.

Advantages of the Rainy Season

The advantages of this season are the beautiful green landscapes, also, being a season of fewer travelers you will find low prices on tours, accommodations, restaurants, among others. In short, an ideal season for travelers on a low budget.

Dry Season

In the Dry Season, which runs from April to October, you will find quite warm days, clear and sunny, but at night the days are very cold, because in this season frosts form (water freezing) and the temperature can reach below 0°C. Daytime temperatures during this season range from 15°C to 30°C and nighttime temperatures range from 0°C to 7°C.

Advantages of the Dry Season

The advantages of this season are that you will find many options for tours, accommodations and restaurants, but you will also find many travelers and some merchants tend to raise the prices of their services and products due to the high demand.

So, based on this information you can decide the season that suits you best. Have a good trip!

What are the best months to visit Cusco?

According to my experience visiting Cusco, here are the best months to visit Cusco.

APRIL is a month of transition, since the rains and unpredictable weather is coming to an end and you can still appreciate the green landscapes and the days are very sunny and, best of all, there are still not many travelers, which is perfect if you are one of those people who like to travel without crowds and take advantage of the fact that there are not many people to take good pictures and videos.

Another advantage is that you can still find low prices on tours, lodging, restaurants and more, ideal for a low cost trip.

JUNE, is a very fun month, all travelers who come to Cusco in this month take in their hearts a great memory of Cusco, not only because it is a month with a sunny and clear weather, but also in this month is celebrated in a big way the anniversary of Cusco, every day there are fairs, every day there are fairs, parades, cultural events, contests, the streets are filled with happiness and color, in addition, one of the most important events is held nationally and worldwide, the Feast of Inti Raymi or Feast of the Sun, where homage is paid to our ancestors the Incas.
